On January 25th, 2010 Westbank First Nation hosted the Olympic Torch as it made its journey to Vancouver.
Westbank First Nation was honoured to provide lumber from the WFN-CF as our contribution to the 2010 Podium Project. This lumber was from timber attacked by the mountain pine bettle just west of West Kelowna. The logs were harvested and transported WFN lands where it was then milled into raw lumber. The lumber was then transported to Sensisyusten School where it was blessed. Before leaving for Vancouver the students had an opportunity to write their greetings to the Olympic athletes.
